2026 President's Award

(L to R): Teresa Bomersbach, PTech and Troy Libke, PTech (TPS President)

Each year, the President’s Award is chosen and presented by the President to an individual who furthers the professional identity of the Association to the public. TPS is honoured to present the 2026 President’s Award to Teresa Bomersbach. Teresa is a 1980 graduate of the Water Sciences Technology program that was once offered at the Saskatoon Campus before it was moved to Moose Jaw. Teresa recently retired from almost 25 years as an instructor in the Environmental, Civil, and Water Resource Engineering Technologies. She also taught mapping and GIS related classes to students in the EDDT and Agriculture programs. Prior to this, Teresa spent 20 years in the oil and gas industry in various positions of increasing technical support and responsibilities. Throughout her 40 years of membership, she observed the Association working closely with government bodies to ensure our members obtained the recognition and the roles they deserved in building our province’s infrastructure and economy. As an instructor, she promoted association membership to the students and encouraged them to understand the importance of supporting the association in maintaining its presence. Teresa has volunteered extensively on TPS’s Membership Engagement Committee for close to three years and, although she is happily retired, she is willing to help in any way she can, especially when it comes to TPS sponsored student events!

2026 Employer of the Year Award

This year, TPS is pleased to present the Award to Water Security Agency.

2026 Honorary Membership

(L to R):  Art Skibinsky, PTech, PEng, and Troy Libke, PTech (TPS President)

We have the pleasure of recognizing someone who has made a lasting impact on our organization - not because he had to, but because he chose to.  His contributions to engineering technology have gone far beyond drawings, specifications, and perfectly calibrated spreadsheets.  In a field where precision matters, standards evolve, and "just a small change" is rarely small, this individual has consistently demonstrated exceptional leadership, technical expertise, and an unwavering commitment to our profession.  It is said that engineers solve problems - but engineering technologists make sure the solutions actually work!  But in all seriousness, this individual's contributions have shaped our profession, inspired our members, and elevated our standards.  His former students and work colleagues will attest that he is a trusted technical expert, a steady hand, always calm but also humorous, precise, and remarkably patient - especially when explaining, for the third time, why the laws of hydraulics cannot be negotiated.  TPS wishes to bestow Honorary Membership to Art Skibinsky.  Honorary membership in our profession is not awarded lightly.  It is reserved for individuals whose commitment, leadership, and generosity of spirit have strengthened our profession in ways that cannot be measured by titles or job descriptions.  Since our profession was formed 61 years ago.  Honorary membership has only been bestowed a handful of times to deserving persons who have advanced our profession.  It is therefore both an honour and a privilege to bestow Art Skibinsky as an Honorary Member of TPS.
